Watch a movie or play a Playstation 2 or 3 game while you get your braces on! Dr. Smith’s office is virtual! The exciting day finally arrives and it’s time to get your braces put on. You might be a little nervous and you can’t wait to see what they look like. To make the time go by faster and to make you feel more comfortable, Dr. Smith’s office offers virtual goggles for this appointment. This allows you to play a Play Station 2 game or watch a DVD while you get your braces put on! Dr. Smith’s office has a few PS2 and PS3 games to choose from. Due to parental discretion issues, patients are asked to bring their own DVD to watch on the day you get your braces put on.

Our office is dedicated to running on time, so you will rarely need to anticipate waiting beyond your appointment time. In the event you arrive early or siblings are in need of some entertainment during your appointment, another Playstation 2 is dedicated to this purpose. Look out, though... you may have to arm wrestle Dr. Smith or another team member for play time!

Play with our family dog, AIBO. He is our robotic dog—the best kind. Lots of playing and tricks, but no dog hair or stinky messes!

Our low tech entertainment includes the good, old-fashion fun: Legos, Etch-A-Sketch, and Magnadoodle. We also have childrens’ books and magazines for all ages.

Every other month patients anticipate another contest that our team has dreamed up! This can range from matching pets to staff members, guessing how many eyeballs are in a jar, to just sending in a summer post card to be entered into a random drawing What does the winner get? A choice! A choice from a list of various items valued at $90-100! Patients can always check out the contest at any time by checking out the “contest” tab on the website.

GOOD HYGEINE AND COMPLIANCE REWARDS!

We know that wearing braces means some added responsibility. Dr. Smith makes it easy by rewarding you for doing your homework. You actually get PAID to get a beautiful smile! Orthobucks are awarded at each appointment---how many you get depends on a number of factors: on-time appointment, good brushing, wearing Dr. Smith’s t-shirt, and no broken brackets/appliances. The day you get your braces off, you will redeem your orthobucks.
